SHE by Spark is a powerful opportunity for passionate and innovative female impact entrepreneurs in South Africa & Kenya who are at the early stages of building businesses that exist to make a difference for women and girls.
Eligibility
Spark is looking for female Kenyan & South African Impact Entrepreneurs who:
- Have already launched an enterprise that is already making a difference in the lives of tens of women and/or girls living in poverty in Kenya.
- Want to scale their enterprise to impact many more women and girls.
Successful applicants will:
Attend the Spark Accelerator
An intensive five day live-in workshop in Johannesburg/Nairobi where you join a small group of Spark* Changemakers and access world class entrepreneurship training designed to help you focus your business and accelerate the growth of your venture and its social impact.
Access the Spark Support Network
- Beyond the accelerator you receive ongoing training and support from Spark
- Spark will connect you to experts and professionals who can help you as you launch and grow your business.
- Specifically Spark will provide you with two years of access to graphic designers, website creators, business coaches, mentors, research assistants, lawyers and accountants (all super helpful for you as an entrepreneur working to grow your venture).
- You also have the opportunity to continually apply for small grants (approximately R5000.00 for South Africa & approximately 15,000 – 20,000 KSH for Kenya) to help you overcome barriers and test ideas to grow the impact or sustainability of your venture.
- Larger grants are awarded to those that build sustainable, measurable and scalable businesses.

Spark is an official pipeline partner with a number of powerful organisations that can help you scale a proven impact enterprise including Ashoka, Echoing Green and the Unreasonable Institute as well as impact investors to help you raise capital. We can prepare you for these opportunities and make connections for you.
