3 movies that relate to entrepreneurs

Sometimes an entrepreneur just needs to sit and enjoy a movie on a Friday night. There are movies released each and every day, but we are combing through the movies that will actually relate to an entrepreneur’s life.

Here are 3 movies that we think you will enjoy this month.

Joy

Joy is a movie based on Joy Mangano. She is an American inventor, businesswoman, and entrepreneur known for inventions such as the self-wringing Miracle Mop and Huggable Hangers. Anyone who sees this film is going to be inspired “I feel like I can climb a mountain!” That’s because this film tells the story of a woman with courage and fortitude to go after her dreams and turn them into reality. At the base of it, this is something that all entrepreneurs will be able to relate to, because it’s what drives all of us forward and eventually what makes us successful.

The Intern

This is a funny comedy of a retired executive at a phone directory company, who applies to a senior citizen intern program after retirement has gotten too boring for him. The company he applies to is About the Fit, a fast-growing e0commerce fashion company owned by Jules Osti.

This movie will teach you lessons on delegation, paying attention to details, speaking less and listening more , how to relate with employees and finally mentorship.

Burnt

This movie is about a talented chef who destroyed his career with drugs and diva behavior. He cleans up and returns to London, determined to redeem himself by spearheading a top restaurant that can gain three Michelin stars.

In my own opinion, I would give the movie a 5.5 rating. However, I learnt a lot about the role of an entrepreneur as a leader. How to relate to your team. Do you listen to them? Do they listen to you? What can you do to ensure you all work towards a common goal without flaring at each other in the work place? The movie brings out the power of teamwork and leadership in a business. Try watching it.
