Digital Africa Startups Challenge will be in its second edition in 2017. It is a startup competition to support sustainable development in Africa.
The initiative has been made possible by the French Development Agency, Bpifrance and La French Tech. The organizers want to improve on 2016. This time they want to offer long-term support to the emergence of solid digital ecosystems.
Tech startups are invited to propose projects linked to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They will be:
- Territory (urban challenge, rural transformation, etc)
- Citizenship (civic engagement, activism, alternative media, etc)
- Knowledge and Creativity (education, cultural industries, etc)
- Environment and Climate (green tech, blue economy, etc)
Successful applicants stand to benefit from technical and financial support of up to sh.3 million in value. Projects will be judged on their feasibility, sustainability and potential impact. Apply here.
