XL Africa acceleration program for digital startups in Africa (funded trip to Cape Town)

XL Africa is a brainchild of The World Bank Group. It is an acceleration program that will support 20 digital startups in Sub-Saharan Africa. Successful applicants will engage with mentors, for five months, through virtual webinar sessions. It will also present an opportunity to network with the 19 other  African digital startups.

XL Africa accelerator program presents an opportunity to meet prospective investors, partners and customers  through the funded trip to Cape Town, South Africa, for the residential program slated for November 2017. You and other successful applicants will be assisted in developing investment packages, to be investor ready, and be taught all you need to know about marketing, financing and market expansion.

Eligibility

  1. Your startup must be registered, have a team of no less than 3 people and be for profit
  2. Your team must be based in Sub-Saharan Africa
  3. You should have a strong management team
  4. You have a digital product or service available in the market right now- demonstrate tangible traction and evidence of revenue
  5. You should be seeking capital investment of between $250,000 and $1.5 million
  6. It will be beneficial if you’re startup has already received investment capital (debt or equity) or a grant
