Centum Foundation is to invest Sh.510 million into startups and small businesses by 2019.
Centum Foundation has committed to inject Sh.510 million into startups and small businesses. This multi-million Shilling investment is to be realized by 2019.
The Foundation will avail the funds through convertible debt or equity investment. Apart from capital provision, Centum Foundation will also engage partners to offer mentorship. The mentorship programme will be three-months long and will include follow-ups to ensure higher success rates.
The entrepreneurs will receive guidance before presenting their idea to the Foundation’s investment committee. Beneficiaries will also access business training to guide them in running their startups effectively.
Centum Investment CEO James Mworia anticipates growth of businesses and generation of job opportunities as a result of this commitment.

To be eligible, startups will have to present their business idea highlighting on their competitive advantage, their management team and the desired impact.
