Experience the Magic of Jazz: The 2025 BC International Jazz Festival in Nairobi

The Bob Collymore Foundation is set to host the third edition of the BC International Jazz Festival (BCIJF) on February 15, 2025, at the Carnivore Grounds in Nairobi. This annual event celebrates the legacy of the late Bob Collymore by bringing together a diverse lineup of local and international jazz artists.

Featured Performers:

Kaima Mwiti Quintet: Led by the talented jazz pianist Kaima Mwiti, this quintet has shared stages with renowned artists such as Jonathan Butler and Jacob Asiyo.

Judah and the Tribe: An 8 to 9-piece Afro-jazz band based in Nairobi, led by trumpeter and flugelhornist Judah Onesimus. Formed in early 2021 by music students from Kenyatta University, the band members are prolific composers, arrangers, and recording artists.

Moreira Chonguiça: A celebrated Mozambican jazz saxophonist, composer, and producer, Moreira is known for leveraging cultural arts for diplomatic and social transformation, amplifying the significance of his work on a global scale.

Stephanie Lottermoser: A German saxophonist, singer, and composer, Stephanie tells personal stories through her music, weaving narratives about society, people, and situations. She composes and arranges her music herself and also produced her most recent album, “IN-DEPENDENCE.”

Proceeds from the festival will support music education initiatives for Kenyan youth through organizations like the Ghetto Classics program, providing young adults with access to artistic expression and education beyond traditional systems.
