Flame Tree Group acquires cosmetic brand SuzieBeauty

Flame Tree Group has signed an agreement to acquire, Kenyan cosmetic brand, SuzieBeauty. In the 25th January 2016 news release, Flame Tree Group revealed that the deal is subject to regulatory approval.

Flame Tree Group has added SuzieBeauty to its wide portfolio of brands. The NSE listed company revealed in a news release on 25th January 2015. Flame Tree Group also has renowned brands such as Roto Tanks and Zoe Cosmetics under its banner.

SuzieBeauty is a Kenyan colour cosmetic brand. It’s products cater to different skin types and conditions. It’s founder, Suzie Wokabi, will join Flame Tree Group as the Creative Director for the cosmetic segment.

She believes the move will broaden the reach and grow the brand of Suzie Beauty. “We’ve always looked for opportunities to reach more people with our unique proposition on beauty, working with Flame Tree Group, we can broaden our reach and significantly grow our brand while remaining true to the founding principles of SuzieBeauty. There is a very bright path ahead and I am excited to work with Flame Tree Group to share our products with more Kenyans.”

The move continues Flame Tree Group’s trend of focusing on its cosmetic category. In September 2015, it acquired four brands from Beauty Plus.

The acquisition is subject to approval by the Competition Authority.
