The Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme is the largest initiative to support young entrepreneurs in Africa, with an aim to fund 10,000 new businesses.
The programme was started in 2010 by, Nigerian, Tony Elumelu by his Tony Elumelu Foundation. The commitment of this non profit organization was to mobilize sh. 10 billion ($100 million) to support 10,000 African entrepreneurs by 2024.

This will be the 4th cycle of the programme. You can read about the call for applications last time out. The goal is to identify promising new businesses then train, mentor and fund the entrepreneurs.
If you are selected, you’ll benefit from 12 weeks of intense online training on managing a new business. You will also receive world-class guidance on charting the early stage of a business plus you get to enjoy access to the largest network of entrepreneurs in Africa.
Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP) will give sh.500,000 ($5,000) in funding to the successful applicants, as well.
Eligibility
- You must be a resident or citizen of an African country
- Your business must be based in Africa
- Your business must be for-profit
- Your business must have been in operation for between 0-3 years
