ERP provider, SYSPRO has set up office in Nairobi, which will act as its regional hub for East Africa.
The Nairobi office will be the 12th of SYSPRO’s regional offices that serve its 15,000 customers in over 60 countries. This latest hub will serve Kenyan, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Ethiopia.
Launch of SYSPRO, in Nairobi, was headlined by the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) firm’s Africa Managing Director, Mark Wilson. He expressed optimism over opportunities to come in Kenya, and East Africa’s, manufacturing sector.
“Opening an office in Kenya comes as a result of recognizing the potential that the region has to offer. We are extremely excited for what’s to come in the next few months. We are also eager to explore the opportunities that this will present to the manufacturing sector.”
The global ERP firm has focus on the breadth of the manufacturing and distribution sectors.

SYSPRO divisional head for East Africa, Patrick Wafula, lined out what the ERP solutions on offer will deliver for Kenyan entrepreneurs.
“We see our role in the East Africa region as an ICT enabler for manufacturers, providing access to industry-specific solutions and driving increased adoption of ICT in both manufacturing and distribution sectors.”
This importance of ICT for manufacturing was echoed by representatives of the Kenyan Association of Manufacturers (KAM) and the Ministry of ICT.
Dalmas Okendo, head of operations at KAM, and John Sergon, director ICT touched on how ICT development will be a boon for manufacturing in Kenya. And how SYSPRO stepping in will boost ICT adoption in manufacturing.
ERP is software that enables integration of back office activities, in organizations, to reduce cost and redundancy and this allows them to become more efficient.
