Global Good Fund 2018/2019 Fellowships for social entrepreneurs (up to sh1 million grant)

The Global Good Fund is inviting social entrepreneurs to apply for its 2018/2019 fellowship program and form a new cohort of impactful social enterprises.

The Global Good Fund is an organization specializing in developing leadership of social entrepreneurs to scale their enterprises and deliver greater social impact. Its reach is global.

So far, it has worked with 68 social entrepreneurs from around 30 countries. The Global Good Fund fellowships consists of a grant, mentorship, peer interaction and attendance to its annual summit.

The Fellows form part of a global cohort of social entrepreneurs and they interaction is facilitated, even after the end of the program. Part of it is to bring heads together to enable solution of specific functional, sector or geographic issues faced by each fellow.

Each Fellow will also benefit from being paired with a mentor. The mentor is an established as a for-profit or not-for-profit business leader. The paired relationship will last for 9 months and involving regular check-ins every 2 to 3 weeks.

The fellows will also get the opportunity to attend the annual 4-day Global Good Fund summit. This will be a valuable platform to build networks.

More, each fellow will receive up to sh.1 million ($10k) in a leadership development grant fund. There will be a special focus on experiential learning.

Eligibility
  • The social enterprise must be at least 1 year old
  • The applicant must have decision-making powers in the enterprises
  • There must​ be at least one full-time employee, in addition to the applicant
  • The applicants should not be receiving formal mentoring at present

Application will be in three phases. The first phase will simply involve a questionnaire to pick out social entrepreneurs aligned with the Global Good Fund goals. The second, to come later, will include an informal video recording and a written section assessing leadership, enterprise and social impact.

Lastly, there will be a visit to the Global Good Fund virtual site for dialogue between applicant, core team members, community members and the Global Good Fund.

All this will happen over several months in 2018, culminating in notification of selection in December. Deadline to apply for phase one is 30th June, 2018.
