How to Register for M-PESA Global
To begin using M-PESA Global, you need to opt-in to the service: *Dial 840# on your mobile phone and accept the terms and conditions to complete the registration process.
Sending Money Internationally
Once registered, you can send money abroad through the following methods:
Using USSD Code:
Dial *840# on your phone.
Select the “Send Money Abroad” option.
Follow the prompts to enter the recipient’s details and the amount you wish to send.
Using the M-PESA App:
Open the M-PESA App on your smartphone.
Navigate to the “M-PESA Global” section.
Select “Send Money Abroad” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete your transaction.
Receiving Money from Abroad
M-PESA Global also allows you to receive funds from overseas directly into your M-PESA account. Individuals abroad can send money through Western Union or directly from their bank accounts, depending on the available services in their country. Once the money is sent, you’ll receive a notification and can access the funds immediately.
