#IdeasChangeLives Challenge 2018 (over sh.2 million prize)

Do you have an idea that will make things better, if only someone could help you through? #IdeasChangeLives Challenge 2018 is inviting you to get that support.

#IdeasChangeLives Challenge is an initiative by the British Council; UK’s international organization for cultural relations and educational opportunities. This is an opportunity to receive funding plus get into a collaboration to actualized your idea.

The challenge is open to anyone based anywhere in the world. You can apply in any form as British Council will accept applicants by individuals, group of individuals, a company, a partnership, etc. You will be eligibile as long as you have a digital solution to help achieve one, or more, of the following 6 SDGs:

  • SDG 4 – quality education
  • SDG 5 – gender equality
  • SDG 8 – decent work and economic growth
  • SDG 10 – reduced inequality
  • SDG 11 – sustainable cities and communities
  • SDG 16 – peace, justice and strong institutions

Up to two winners will picked. Each will receive sh.2.58 million (£20k) from Friends of the British Council. The winners will also have the opportunity to collaborate with British Council’s Digital, Partnerships and Innovation team to develop a minimum viable product (MVP). The MVP will be based on the winner’s idea. Once it’s ready, British Council and the winner will agree on what the next phase of the collaboration will be.

The best ideas will be picked on the basis of positive impact, scale and demonstration of real value from partnership with British Council. Deadline for application is 23rd November, 2018.
