Kisumu to host Lake Basin Expo and Investment Summit 2017

The Lake Basin Expo and Investment Summit will be held between the 12th to the 14th of February this year in Jomo Kenyatta grounds, Kisumu. It is the first ever Kenya’s multi-sectorial platform.

The thirteen counties within the Lake Basin Economic bloc will have a chance to showcase the opportunities within their region. Local, regional and international delegates will be present to exhibit the advances in mining, infrastructure, and ICT and agri- business.

The summit is crafted to showcase revolution in agriculture via ICT advancements, Infrastructural development, as well as Banking and financial services.

It presents to you the opportunity to meet, interact and learn on a global pedestal. It is purposed to pinpoint the investment opportunities in the Lake Basin Economic bloc.

Among the anticipated guests will be regional and national ministers, CEOs of various companies, directors and advisors. Experts from the ministries of planning and development, ICT, tourism, Finance, infrastructure, power and energy will also be present. The Exhibitors will include agriculturalists, Ranchers, manufactures and logistics companies.

The Lake Basin Economic bloc constitutes of Kisumu, Bungoma, Homa Bay, Busia, Bomet, Siaya, Nyamira, and Kisii and vihiga counties. The investment opportunities in this bloc include Ferry services, real estate, banking sector, infrastructure, ICT platform services, Milk processing, mining, tourism and many other opportunities depending on the county of choice. An economic blueprint has been drawn for each of these counties, it is basically to create a ring road for the Lake region and establish a tourism circuit.

    I am a small scale farmer of arrowroot in Kapuanja region of Kisumu West. There is potential for community involvement if the residents find a steady market.
