University students in Kenya are invited to apply for the end-of-year KNATCOM training workshop on mobile apps development for sustainable development.
KNATCOM stands for the Kenyan National Commission for UNESCO and has come up with this initiative to promote access to information through use of mobile applications.

At the workshop, participants will be guided on the developing process of mobile apps in UNESCO’s 5 thematic areas of Education, Natural Science, Social and Human Science, Culture and Communication and Information.
Eligibility
- Must be aged below 35 years
- Have a laptop to use at training workshop
- Be in the 4th year of IT/Computer Science course at a Kenyan University
- Be familiar with mobile apps programming languages
- Have developed at least 1 mobile application
If you wish to apply, you are asked to download the application form and submit screenshot of your app or 1 paragraph of database you’ve created in the past.
You must also include 1 paragraph write up about the app you would develop at the KNATCOM training workshop, along with a 1 page CV and letter of interest. Lastly, submit copies of your national and university ID.
Your application should be submitted, by 21st November, to mobileapps@unesco.go.ke
