Social entrepreneurs and changemakers from Kenya are invited to apply for the 2019 Kumvana Fellowship program by Engineers Without Borders Canada.
Engineers Without Borders Canada (EWB) is an organization invested in international development. Kumvana Fellowship is an initiative by EWB that supports social entrepreneurs accelerate their work and realize greater impact.
The program is looking to bring together 10-15 social entrepreneurs from Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Zambia and Malawi. They will get to develop ideas, solve problems, foster collaborations and learn from like-minded individuals in the Kumvana Fellowship program.

The specific activities involved include an 8-week online learning course, regional African retreats to meet part of the Kumvana community and 5-weeks in Canada. The Canadian experience will include a leadership training, in Toronto, stay with a Canadian host family and organizational placement to develop skills.
The trip to Canada will be fully funded by Kumvana Fellowship. A stipend for basic living expenses will also be handed out.
Eligibility
- You must be a social entrepreneur or changemaker working in Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Zambia or Malawi
- You should be committed to take part in the 8-week online learning program
- You should be available to travel to Canada in January/February 2019
- You should not have previously taken part in a similar fellowship program
Kumvana Fellowship program 2019 also requires individuals seeking support, coaching, new tools and embrace different ways of living and new cultures.
