Applications are being received for the MEST Africa Challenge 2019, a second edition, to support startups in Africa with equity funding and incubation.
The MEST Africa Challenge 2019 follows on the success of last year’s edition. It was won by a Nigerian accounting and payroll software startup. The finals were part of the MEST Africa Summit 2018 organized in Cape Town. The 2019 summit is in Nairobi.
Finalists from Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana and Ivory Coast will be funded to attend. Here, the winner will be picked to receive up to sh.5 million ($50,000) in equity investment. The winner will also join the MEST Incubator Community.
MEST stands for Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology, seeking to support tech startups in Africa.

Deadline for application is 15th February, 2019. This will be followed by regional pitching events. Nairobi’s is set for 27th February, 2019. Others will be in Lagos, Accra, Cape Town and Abidjan. Check out the official website to learn more.
