If you have a strong entrepreneurial spirit; invested and interested in technology, you are invited to apply for the fully funded MEST Training Program. The program expands out of South Africa in 2016.
Application for the MEST Training Program is now open. The program invites entrepreneurial techies, in select African countries, to learn how to establish tech businesses. In 2016, MEST expands its initiative beyond South Africa. Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana have joined the fold. MEST stands for the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology
The fully sponsored 12-month training program will impart skills on the core aspects of running a tech business. Focus will be on computer programming, software development, product management, finance, marketing, sales and best leadership practices.
Eligibility
- Applicants must have a deep passion to start a software company
- Must have 3-5 years entrepreneurial or corporate work experience
- Can commit a year in Accra, Ghana participating in the MEST Training Program from Sept. 2016
- Applicants must be from Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya or South Africa with a degree from a tertiary institution
- Completely filled online questionnaire
- Upload photo, CV, 2-3min video pitch and 2 recommendation letters from previous employer, manager or supervisor
Students will be tasked with developing a product, writing business plans and crafting investor pitches. This will be done in teams. The best concepts will receive between $50,000 and $250,000 in equity investment. That’s not all. They will get going at the MEST incubator.
