AWIEF Awards is an annual celebration and appreciation of contribution made by women entrepreneurs to the economy and in social development.
The award is by the African Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF). This is a non-profit organization that acts for the economic empowerment of women, in the continent. AWIEF does this through networking and training initiatives, among others.
The organization also holds the AWIEF Awards every year. It’s open to African nationals, operating across all sectors, based in Africa. Both for-profit and non-profit enterprises are eligible for nomination.
Greatest thing? You can not only nominate a woman entrepreneur you feel is making some real difference in society or making leaps economically, also you can just go ahead and nominate yourself if you feel that description fits your crown.

AWIEF will host the winning women entrepreneurs at its awards gala in Cape Town, South Africa, on the 9th of November.
Below, we’ve listed the 8 categories to make your nominations (AWIEF Awards may require you to verify or support your nomination):
- Young Entrepreneur Award – for women under the age of 35
- Tech Entrepreneur Award
- Social Entrepreneur Award
- Global Brand Award – for women who have created globally recognizable products/services
- Agr-entrepreneur Award
- Empowerment Award – for women empowering other women
- Creative Industry Award
- Lifetime Achievement Award – for prolonged and consistent achievement in business
