Pitch AgriHack 2019 is the latest edition of this initiative that gives grant funding to young entrepreneurs involved in the agriculture sector. Read and know how to apply.
It is made possible by the collaborative efforts of the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA), Alliance for a Green Revolution Africa (AGRA), OCP Group and GreenTec Capital Africa. Other partners behind the Pitch AgriHack 2019 initiative are World Bank plus the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
Pitch AgriHack is open to both male and female founders/co-founders; aged between 18 and 35 years old. Do you meet this? Your business should be offering digital services to the agriculture sector. You must also be either a resident or national of an African country.
The winners will get to pitch in Accra, Ghana, as part of the Africa Green Revolution Forum (AGRF 2019). There will be several categories of winners:
- Mature Stage Category – sh.1.69 million (€15,000)
- Early Stage Category – sh.845k (€7,500)
- Data Management Services – sh.1.13 million (€10,000)
- Public Choice – sh.565k (€5,000)
- OCP Group Award – sh.565k (€5,000)
- GreenTec Award – sh.565k (€5,000)
You will be required to expand on plenty of things about your business when making your application. You will need to give the following details: problem addressed, technical solution proposed, key metrics, customer segments targeted, unique value proposition, revenue streams plus other strategy elements. The business should have a certificate of incorporation as well.
