How hard do you work? Ruth Mwanzia runs two businesses in the light manufacturing and services sectors. She advises you to believe that dreams do come true, in this interview.
1. Tell us a bit about your business
My name is Ruth Mawia Mwanzia, I am a Christian and a young entrepreneur, I run two businesses: Koola waters and AfriBiz Academy. Koola waters specializes in processing, distribution, packaging and treatment of pure drinking water. We are KEBS certified and based in Karen, Nairobi Area.
AfriBiz Academy is an entrepreneurship platform that offers mentorship, coaching and consultancy to startups and people at the idea stage and they want to venture into entrepreneurship.
2. How did you raise funds to start?
Savings and family support.
3. What is your biggest achievement so far?
I have several; being listed among the top 30 under-30 entrepreneurs this year who are doing well. Travelling to China, a fully sponsored trip by the Chinese Embassy, being awarded by my school, Africa Nazarene University, for giving back to the alma matter.

4. What do you know now that you wish you knew before you started?
With time, I have come to appreciate the value of networking and I have learnt the importance of doing market research before venturing into new markets
5. Parting shot for the young Kenyan women reading this?
I would encourage them to pursue entrepreneurship and to trust God for the best outcome and not to be scared of pursuing their dreams because there is nothing impossible with God and dreams do come true.
