Are you an entrepreneur with a business showing potential? Take part in the Startupper of the Year Challenge and receive support for your business idea.
The Startupper of the Year Challenge supports good ideas and projects working to solve community problems. It is an initiative by Total. The problems include matters such as education, health, infrastructure and many more.
The first edition of the Startupper of the Year Challenge involved 34 African countries. This latest, 2018/2019, edition will involve 55 countries from around the world. A Top Female Entrepreneur category has also been added. It was realized that women do have great business ideas but many shy away from competing. Last time, only 13% of applicants were women yet their share of winners was double that.
This contest rewards 3 entrepreneurs in each participating country. Kenya had 1 female and 2 male winners last time. Startupper of the Year Challenge further picks grand regional winners from the collection of country winners.
Winners of this contest get financial support and coaching. They also enjoy publicity in the form of networking, media and PR.
