Hult Prize Challenge 2019

Take part in the Hult Prize Challenge 2019 (sh.100 million prize)

Teams of young people are invited to apply for the Hult Prize Challenge 2019, considered the most prestigious start-up contest in the whole world.

Hult Prize Challenge 2019 will be a 10th year anniversary edition. The initiative still maintains commitment to support the brightest college and university students who want to change the world through impact entrepreneurship. Every year, a different social challenge is selected as the focus area for the Hult Prize.

In 2019, the theme is ‘For Us, By Us: The Global Youth Unemployment Challenge‘. This means that the young people applying for Hult Prize Challenge 2019 should be developing ventures, in any industry, which will contribute towards creation of 10,000 jobs over the next 10 years.

The top 50 applications will benefit from an 8-week accelerator program at Hult Castle, in London. Among these, the best 6 will get the privilege to pitch for sh.102 million ($1 million) at the United Nations.

How you can go all the way

A great thing about Hult Prize Challenge 2019, and any of the others, is that there are different ways to apply depending on how things are convenient for you.

  • There is an On-Campus Challenge that qualifies applicants to one of the 25 regional finals. JKUAT hosted Hult Prize on-campus challenge in 2018
  • There is a General Application to compete at one of the 25 regional finals, as well
  • There is the Hult Prize Regionals that admits qualified applicants directly to the castle acceleration program
  • A Wild Card round, online competition, takes place after the regional finals as a last chance to take part in this challenge

You have to confirm suitability of any of the above alternatives to you. If you want to check whether your country or a school near you will be hosting any of the above, please confirm on the Hult Prize Challenge 2019 webpage shared at the end of this article.

But before you apply ensure you’re organized in teams of 3 to 4 students, and that you will be ready to upload your resumes and a team statement of purpose for the online application. You’ll have to check regularly if your team has been selected.

Deadline to apply for the Hult Prize Challenge 2019 is 23rd December, 2018. Please visit the official website to learn more before you apply.
