The Unilever Young Entrepreneurs Awards 2018 will be recognizing enterprises in 8 categories for solving problems of sustainability, with cash prizes among the key rewards.
Businesses run by young people and with an initiative, product or service solving a sustainability problem are invited to apply for the Unilever Young Entrepreneurs Awards 2018. The goal is to help the businesses grow and maximize their impact.
In 2017, there were only 4 categories being recognized. This year there will be 8: Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well Being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Responsible Production and Consumption plus Climate Action.
The winners will be selected by The University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership. The 8 will also gain from an accelerator program, by Cambridge University, that will also serve to pick an overall winner. This recognition is called the HRH The Prince of Wales Young Sustainability Entrepreneur Prize. Its recipient will get a sh.5.9 million (€50,000) cash prize.
The other 7 businesses will each get just over sh.1 million (€8,500) in cash reward. All 8 selected applicants will benefit from mentorship on their specific area of need. The Unilever Young Entrepreneurs Awards 2018 is open to individuals aged between 18 and 35 years old.
The businesses should already be beyond the idea stage. On application, shortlisted startups will be required to submit further information by way of a pitch deck, a business plan or just the financial projections.
Successful applicants must be available to attend both the accelerator program and the Awards ceremony in the UK. Cost towards the trip will be catered for by the Unilever Young Entrepreneurs Awards 2018.
Deadline for application is 29th June, 2018. Visit the Official Website to get started.
