Visa Everywhere Initiative is an innovation program to realize collaboration between startups and Visa, which was finally launched in sub-Saharan Africa.
Attendees of the Nairobi Tech Week, last month, were introduced to Visa Everywhere Initiative through a hackathon and Visa’s participation in panel discussions. Initially, the deadline to apply for this opportunity was set for 18th May but it has now been extended.
Visa is looking to reward startups for bold solutions on the challenges of digital payments in Africa. Winning startups will each get sh.2.5 million ($25,000). Further, there is the opportunity for Visa to provide more investment subject to concerned parties arriving at a consensus on the suitable development program and additional terms of investment.
Three startups will be rewarded on standing out on the 3 Visa Everywhere Initiative briefs.
- How can your startup use Visa API’s to enable smaller merchants accept payment in-store digitally or provide for secure e-commerce payment solutions to reduce cash-on-delivery?
- How can your startup use Visa API’s to leverage mass reach platforms, like Facebook, to help businesses operating in paced customer-centric environments improve cash flows and receive payments?
- How can your startup use Visa API’s to provide payment services that are functional for illiterate customers in order to build their confidence in the banking system?
