We Empower SDGs business competition 2018 (grant + funded trip to New York)

WE Empower SDGs global business competition 2018 is inviting entrepreneurs for the chance to take part in the UN Global Goals Week.

The WE Empower SDGs global business competition is for women entrepreneurs advancing Sustainable Development Goals, by the UN. 5 winners will be selected from each of the UN regions.

They will receive an all-expense paid trip to New York for the UN Global Goals Week in September, 2018. While there, the successful applicants should expect to benefit from a host of activities that they will be involved in.

WE Empower SDGs global business competition will have a tailored training for the entrepreneurs. The women entrepreneurs will participate in a dynamic pitch event with the opportunity for one of the 5 to get a sh.2 million ($20,000) grant.

They will also participate in 2 high-level forums, with one convened by the Secretary-General of the United Nations. On top of all of this, they will get a ticket to grace the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park, New York, as part of participation in Global Citizen Week events.

Eligibility
  • Yoir business must have been in operation for more than 3 years
  • You must have at least 3 full-time employees
  • Business should be for-profit (social enterprises should be for-profit but with social mission)
  • You must be available to travel to New York between the 23rd and 29th of September, 2018
  • Your business should be generating annual sales of at least sh.10 million ($100,000)
