Innovative women entrepreneurs are welcomed to apply for Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards 2019 for a chance to win cash prize and receive support for their businesses.
Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards has happened every year since 2006. In that time, 198 female entrepreneurs from all over the world have enjoyed support.
The initiative picks 3 women from each of the 7 regions of the world, for a total number of 21 finalists. The regions are; Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East and North Africa, South East Asia, Latin America, Far East Asia, Europe and North America.
These 21 women are selected based on the degree of innovation of their concept, financial stability of their businesses and social impact. Following, the 21 are invited to attend Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards week, where they gain from:
- One-on-one personalized business coaching
- Entrepreneurship workshops, knowledge sessions and networking events
- Media visibility
- Scholarship to attend INSEAD Social Entrepreneurship 6-day Executive Program
Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards also comes with a cash prize. At the award’s week, a second round of competition will see 7 women picked, one from each region, by a jury to receive sh.10 million ($100,000) in prize money. The other 14 women get sh.3 million ($30,000) in prize money.
Eligibility
- Business should be in the developmental stage, which is around 1-3 years in existence
- Business should be designed for-profit​. Generating revenue doesn’t necessarily mean that profiy will be realized, in early stage of business, but the intent should be there
- The main leadership position must be filled by a woman. She must also own significant stake in the business
Application for Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards 2019 is done online and will require some documents from applicants for due diligence. They are; CV, business registration, proof of patent (if applicable), detailed financials, capitalization table, most recent tax returns and receipt of the same from tax authority.
