It’s that time of the month! That time when we have the Airtel Golf Media Challenge.
The Airtel Golf challenge is a competition that pools journalists and bloggers from different media houses joined by the Airtel Kenya staff in a game of golf where the winners get to enjoy a 1 month fully paid golf at Golf Park on Ngong Racecourse. Airtel is keen on creating an environment where journalists and bloggers get to learn the sport and enjoy it while bonding with each other.
However, men and women enjoy the game differently. For men the socializing is built around the game itself, whereas for women, golf is the catalyst for a pleasant outing, a healthy walk in the park and it’s a fun thing to do while hanging out with your friends.
Golf has been majorly a male dominated game. From the people who operate courses to the guys who come out to your car to get your bag. However, Airtel wants to change that for women .
The Airtel golf challenge has provided a platform for more women golfers to train and better their golf skills. When the challenge started, they had like five ladies taking part in the competition but now more ladies are coming on board. So far, 10 women play in the competition, with three women playing in the experience category.
