Women in Film Awards Partners with Gordon’s Gin to Celebrate Female Excellence in Film

The Women in Film Awards (WIFA), a pioneering platform dedicated to recognizing and celebrating women in the film industry, has partnered with Gordon’s Gin, the world’s No.1 international gin brand, for its 6th edition. This collaboration reinforces WIFA’s mission to spotlight female creatives shaping Kenya’s cinematic landscape while honoring their contributions to the industry.

Since its inception, WIFA has championed women in film and television, from directing and producing to screenwriting and cinematography. With the support of Gordon’s Gin, this year’s event promises to be even more immersive and impactful, ensuring that women in film receive the visibility and recognition they deserve.

“Women have played a crucial role in Kenya’s evolving film industry, yet many remain unrecognized,” said Dr. Susan Gitimu, Founder of WIFA. “WIFA was established to change that, and we are thrilled to have Gordon’s as a partner that shares our vision of empowering and elevating female creatives.”

The awards will provide a platform for networking, collaboration, and celebration, all while toasting to women’s achievements with signature Gordon’s cocktails.

“Gordon’s is proud to stand with WIFA in recognizing the incredible women who are pushing the boundaries of storytelling in Kenya,” said Zipporah Ndung’u, Senior Brand Manager, Gordon’s Kenya. “Film is a powerful medium that shapes culture, and through this partnership, we aim to amplify the voices of female creatives.”

Gordon’s has previously supported the film industry, including a partnership with Insignia Productions on the hit series Single Kiasi, and has even been featured in global classics like James Bond’s Casino Royale.

The Women in Film Awards 2025 will take place on 8th March, coinciding with International Women’s Day, as a grand celebration of female filmmakers and industry professionals.
