Women should not undermine each other

The phenomena of women being their own enemy have been blown out of proportion. To some extent women do undermine their own kind but on other occasions, women become each other’s pillar. As much as we stress on the unwillingness of women to help each other, let us also recognize those that continually give themselves to see their own kind grow and progress.

Women compare, compete and undermine each other. And this is just how well they interact. Some of the most common explanations are that women have to protect themselves from any harm; therefore any move they make will be to stay safe irrespective of what harm it may cause to the other woman. The other reason why women will turn against each other is when their male partners define their values. A woman will battle her fellow woman just to get the male approval.

Women, being goal driven, have a way of fighting whatever is standing on their way even if it is another woman. While men find it easy and beneficial to share their real intention to each other, women find it difficult and unpleasing to confide in their own kind. They will mostly choose a male mentor over a female one.

Are there women who support each other at their work places? Of course there are! While some women do nothing to support each other or even belittle their fellow women, some other women are focused on raising bottom line of women. They have fully dedicated themselves to uplifting each other.  When women think that they are superior to each other they fight any factor that tries to pull them down.

Women who acknowledge other women’s abilities are the hope that is required to improve the relationship among women. Are you one of them? There is no need to lower the stock of other women. Instead of invading others universes we should dominate our own and lead to a win-win situation. It’s time we all rose and supported each other in class, workplace or even in the yoga class. Show your support to that other woman and help her become a better version of herself.
