YALI Regional Leadership Center East Africa is welcoming the latest cohort of its fellowship program for young people in the region.
YALI Regional Leadership Center East Africa is located at Kenyatta University. It’s one of 4 YALI hubs in the continent. YALI – Young African Leaders Initiative – was started in 2010.
Its objective is to impart individual, team leadership, innovation, creativity and communication skills on young Africans. This is done through a 4-week funded residential training. It targets youth (aged between 18 and 35 years old). The last YALI Regional Leadership Center East Africa fellowship was in February.
There are three tracks of training. The first two are on public management and civic leadership for those who seek to serve the public in governmental and non-governmental capacities respectively. The third is on business and entrepreneurship for youth who seek to establish successful ventures.
On completion, the cohort will still be able to connect as YALI alumni. The alumni is also requested to give back, as volunteers, by helping in the initiatives activities of hosting forums, reviewing applications, among others.
More great news is that YALI Regional Leadership Center fellowship alumni get future opportunity to apply for financial and non-financial assistance to support collective action.
