Young Water Solutions is inviting youth with solutions on water problems to participate in its 2019 fellowship program and receive technical support plus seed funding.
This fellowship is the flagship program of Young Water Solutions, an organization that empowers young people to address water challenges. About 10 young individuals who can successfully design and implement sustainable and inclusive water inititatives will be picked. Kenyans were among the fellows in both 2017 and 2018.
SDG 6 summarizedThe fellowship will take place in Europe from August, 2019. It will involve intensive training in project management, business, pitching and other areas. Young Water Solutions fellows will also benefit from mentorship and a grant of over sh.500,000 (€5,000).
Special focus is being given on social enterpreneurship. If your idea is a one-off project, it should be one that can be turned into a social business. There are other requirements you should meet to be eligible for this:
- Be 18 to 30 years old at the time of application
- Be Founder or Co-founder of an early stage intitiative to solve a well-defined water problem
- Be a citizen of one of the countries eligibile for the program – like Kenya
- Be able to communicate in English
- Have a valid passport to attend the workshop in Europe
Young Water Solutions will cover most of the costs related to the program. The only thing participants will cater for is visa expenses and commute to the airport.
